Summary: Nudge accesses your Google Calendar to show meeting times and join links. Your calendar data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.

What is Nudge?

Nudge is a macOS menu bar application that helps you stay on time for meetings by displaying countdown timers and providing quick access to join links for Zoom and Google Meet.

Information We Access

When you connect your Google Calendar, Nudge accesses:

  • Calendar events – Event titles, start/end times, attendee counts, and meeting links (Zoom/Google Meet URLs)
  • Calendar list – Names and IDs of your calendars so you can choose which ones to track

How Your Data is Used

Your calendar data is used exclusively to:

  • Display meeting countdowns in your menu bar
  • Show transition alerts between meetings
  • Provide one-click join buttons for video calls

Data Storage

Your calendar data never leaves your device. Nudge fetches events directly from Google's servers to your Mac. We do not operate any servers that receive, store, or process your calendar data.

The only data stored locally on your device:

  • Your Google OAuth authentication token (stored securely)
  • Your app preferences (selected calendars, alert timing, etc.)
  • Cached calendar events for the current and next day (in memory only)

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third parties. Period.

Analytics

Nudge collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the app, including:

  • Feature usage patterns (e.g., how often alerts are snoozed vs. joined)
  • App stability and error rates

Analytics are fully anonymized and contain no calendar content, event titles, or personal information. You can disable analytics in Settings → Advanced.

Your Rights

You can at any time:

  • Disconnect – Sign out of Google Calendar in Nudge settings
  • Revoke access – Remove Nudge's access at Google Account Permissions
  • Delete the app – Uninstalling removes all local data

Security

Nudge uses Google's official OAuth 2.0 flow for authentication. We never see or store your Google password. Communication with Google's servers uses HTTPS encryption.

Children's Privacy

Nudge is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be noted in app release notes.
